Our “Barn Raiser” volunteers are essential for the successful development and daily operation of The Star Barn and Agrarian Country projects. To date, our volunteers have removed brush, vines, and weeds from around the buildings at The Star Barn complex, removed old hay from The Star Barn, repaired the corn crib roof, added extra support to the chicken coop, and filled a 30-yard dumpster with junk and debris from inside The Star Barn and corn crib.

Volunteers are needed for the following current tasks:

• Final clean-up and removal of junk and debris from The Star Barn, hog barn, and chicken coop


• Roof patching


• Bracing of cupola structures on outbuildings


• Assistance with manning booth space at various venues


• Assistance with periodic mailings and telephone calls

Volunteers Needed! Join us at the historic Star Barn for a work day on Saturday, September 6, 2008, beginning at 9:00 a.m. We will finish removing junk and debris from The Star Barn, and begin debris removal from the hog barn and chicken coop. Supplies, tools, drinks, and lunch will be provided.
